Privacy policy
Your creations stay on your phone. Here’s how Whimsy Cam uses device permissions and handles your data.
Operated by Jintao Lv
No personal data collection
Whimsy Cam does not send any personal data to the developer. The app has no account registration, ads, statistics or analytics SDKs, tracking, or social features. It does not access your location. The optional in-app purchase (Whimsy Cam Pro) is paid through Apple; the developer never receives your payment details, and whether you've bought it is checked with Apple on your phone.
Camera and microphone
The camera and microphone are used only to take photos and record video, including sound when recording. Images are processed locally on your phone and are not uploaded.
Photos, videos and library access
Your photos, videos and stickers are kept in the app’s own local storage. When you save to Photos, the app requests add-only access: it can add your creations but cannot read your photo library.
Importing uses the system photo picker. The app can access only the photos or videos you choose yourself.
Sticker cutouts
Sticker cutouts use the on-device recognition built into iOS. Your images do not leave your phone.
Font downloads
When you add text to a sticker, iOS may download some fonts from Apple’s servers as needed. This is a system feature. The app requests only the font name; it does not send your text or photos.
Sharing and copying
Your creations are passed to an app you choose only when you tap Share or Copy.
Deleting data and backups
You can delete individual creations in the app, or delete the app to clear all its local data. There is no server-side account to delete. Depending on your device settings, iCloud or computer backups may include app data.
Children
The app does not collect information from any age group.
